ISG Scoops £6m Worth Of Projects

ISG has announced an addition £6m worth of Scottish projects to its portfolio.

The latest contracts, in St Andrews and Glasgow, include the development of a new hotel and retail outlet, plus an office refurbishment for Network Rail.

At St Andrews, the contractor has started work on a £5m mixed-use development for Crucible St Andrews. The project will see a Premier Inn Hotel built on site, as well as a new Marks & Spencer store.

Situated on the Largo Road in the town, the first phase of works involves the demolition of the existing industrial buildings and the retention of the crushed material on site. This will make way for the 16,000 sq ft development.

The three-storey Premier Inn hotel will consist of 65 rooms and incorporate dining and refreshment facilities. Featuring a composite steel and timber frame structure, the external elevations of the hotel include a combination of facing brick, curtain walling and rain screen cladding elements.

The project is expected to be completed ahead of next year's British Open Golf Championship, which is being held by St Andrew's.

In addition, ISG has also completed a £1.2m project in Glasgow. This scheme saw the refurbishment of office accommodation for Network Rail at its St Vincent Street base. Encompassing six floors, the company replaced and upgraded the building's mechanical and electrical services, as well as refurbished and reconfigured the existing space to create a number of new cellular offices, meeting rooms and a staff deli.

Andy McLinden, ISG's Scotland Regional Managing Director, said: "Crucible St Andrew's and Network Rail are significant additions to our growing portfolio of high-quality customers.

"The burgeoning hospitality market sees our specialist sector expertise in strong demand and working with Network Rail in Glasgow further strengthens our relationship with this longstanding and important national customer."
