In relation to the footway repairs, five of the 18 projects have been completed with a further three identified. They are Broadstone Avenue, Duchal Street and B788 Kilmacolm Road selected lengths.

These are all expected to be completed by the end of March next year as well.

Councillor Michael McCormick, Inverclyde's Environment and Regeneration Convener, said: "The roads team are pulling out all the stops to get these repairs and road resurfacing improvements completed. The approved programme and additional funding aimed to tackle the long standing issues of roads maintenance and it is clear that Inverclyde is making great strides forward. There is a lot of work to be done but this is a huge step forward and one that I am sure residents and visitors to Inverclyde will welcome."
