Third Don Crossing Consultation To Take Place

A public meeting regarding the Third Don Crossing project works is to take place this evening (22 September).

The meeting is open to those in the Bridge of Don and Danestone communities, Aberdeen Council has said, and will allow those in attendance to learn more about the project, its associated construction works and any related mitigation measures.

The Third Don Crossing, costing approximately £18m, will involve the construction of a new single carriageway link road between the Parkway/Whitestripes Road junction and the Tillydrone Avenue/St Machar Drive junctions, while a new bridge will also be constructed.

Balfour Beatty has been appointed to build the new bridge over the River Don.

Work on the scheme is scheduled to begin later this year, with the bridge due to be substantially completed and open for use by late 2015.

The public meeting will take place on Monday 22 September at the Bridge of Don Academy from 7pm to 9pm.
