The Helix Shortlisted For Environmental Award

Falkirk Council has said The Helix has been shortlisted for a national environmental award – with the results of the vote expected to be revealed this evening (19 September).

The competition will feature on 'National Lottery Stars 2014' on Friday night, which celebrates the best of lottery funded projects in the UK.

The Helix project is now one of 49 finalists for the award.

Councillor Adrian Mahoney, Falkirk Council's spokesperson for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: "Representatives from the Helix partners travelled down to Pinewood Studios last week to record the awards show.

"It was a glittering night, full of big name celebrities and talented people from all around Britain, involved in amazing projects supported by the National Lottery.

"I'd like to thank everyone who voted for the Helix project. Please all tune into the show on BBC1 on Friday night catch up with it on BBC iPlayer. There's a great film about the Helix on the programme – as well as an emotional ending, celebrating a very special person."

The show will air on Friday night at 11.05pm on BBC1 Scotland.
