Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) has said it is to invest an additional £12m in its housing stock over the next four years.

Already, the partnership has said expressions of interest have been invited from contractors to undertake the work. The improvements would include central heating installation, insulation, bathroom and kitchen replacements, as well as roofing and roughcasting works.

The ongoing investment programme will contribute to relieving the effects of fuel poverty through a focus on insulation works and the installation of modern, efficient heating systems.


Kevin Paterson, HHP's spokesperson on investment, said: "We are coming to the end of our current four year and £14m investment programme which we have delivered ahead of time and within budget. This further £12m investment in tenant's homes demonstrates HHP's commitment to ensure that tenant's homes are maintained to the highest standard and that we continue to deliver the quality of homes and services that tenants aspire to.

"We are working now to ensure that there is no let up in our own programme and that we have contractors in place for the end of this year when the current contracts end."

Since its establishment in 2006, HHP has invested more than £20m in the housing stock.
