A 'Meet the Buyer' event is to be held at Kelso High School next week for contractors and suppliers.
It will provide an opportunity for attendees to meet with Morrison Construction – the contractor who has been appointed to deliver the new £21.8m Kelso High School.
Morrison Construction and Hub South East Scotland will host the event at Kelso High School on Thursday 17 July from 3pm to 7pm.
The drop-in session will allow local firms to meet those in charge of awarding contracts to suppliers in relation to the new school. It will also provide potential opportunities for individuals to find employment, training for young people and for companies to be involved either as sub-contractors or suppliers during the main construction works.
Members of the public will also be able to attend the drop-in session where plans for the new facility will be on display.
Executive Member for Economic Development, Councillor Stuart Bell, said: "The Council is committed to supporting local communities across the Borders throughout the construction and delivery of Kelso High School.
"Local firms attending the meet the buyer event can find out about work package contents for the new Kelso High School, the procurement policy and what training opportunities maybe available for young people.
"Morrison and Hub will also be able to give individuals advice on how their skills and knowledge can gain them work.
"I would encourage any local firms, individuals and young people to attend the event and find out more about getting involved in the new Kelso High School."
Those who cannot make the session can sign up with Morrison Construction to find out more about supplier opportunities here.
