Developer Dandara has broken ground at its 40-acre international commercial property development, City South Office Park.
Roads, services and infrastructure are almost complete at City South Office Park, which is located south of Aberdeen City alongside the proposed new park and ride, and within a minute's drive of a major junction on the forthcoming Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.
Phase 1 of City South, adjacent to the A90, includes an initial 35,000sq.ft of prime office space developed across five pavilions ranging from 3,500 to 15,000sq.ft – with occupants expected to move in before the end of 2014.
Dandara has taken the decision to develop the units on a speculative basis to satisfy anticipated strong market demand.
City South Office Park delivers of a host of amenities including a premium hotel, restaurant, retail and nursery and on site leisure facilities such as gymnasium, running tracks and sports pitch, alongside high quality Grade A office buildings for occupiers and employees.
Neil Young, commercial director of Dandara, said: "Demand from the market in the north-east is continuously rising – we developed a detailed master plan for City South to ensure we can meet the demands of modern occupiers and we are now investing more than £10m in taking forward the first phase of that plan at City South.
"Following the completion of the first phase at City South, we have a three year development plan which will include continued construction of high quality office pavilions on a speculative basis, construction of high scale headquarters and provision of amenities.
"Dandara recognises the increasing emphasis occupiers are placing on provision of wide ranging staff facilities in the ever-changing and competitive commercial marketplace."
Dandara, which opened its north-east operation in Aberdeen in early 2010, has a team of more than 150 direct employees, has delivered a series of high end residential developments in Aberdeen as well as its commercial projects in Westhill and Badentoy for occupiers including Schlumberger and Bibby Offshore.
