Off-Site Social Housing Framework Launched

LHC Scotland is encouraging companies involved in the design, manufacture supply and erection of off-site building systems for social housing development to tender for its New Homes framework arrangement (NH1).

The organisation has said those who fall under that sector will be able to tender for the framework which launches later this year. The framework will be made available through two workstreams – one for volumetric build, and the other for panelised systems. This will allow customers to have choices that consider the flexibility of design, transportation, site access and projects in planning as well as integration with existing build programmes.

In a statement, LHC said the framework will be made available in Scotland, England and Wales, and the tender will be weighted 70% on quality and 30% on price, and will consider project management, product quality and compliance with relevant funding bodies and technical regulation. The framework is not material specific.

John Skivington, Director of LHC, said: "We are very excited about this new framework opportunity which will significantly increase our portfolio for social housing landlords.

"We believe that with our experience in the social housing construction sector, we will be able to attract companies who can offer social landlords high quality best value options for quick and efficient housing constructing."

Companies can register their interest at the e-tendering Portal.

Submissions must be received by 1pm on 1 July 2014.
