Planned Demolition Put On Hold

Plans to demolish a former community centre in Aberdeen have been put on hold, it is understood.

The Burnside Centre, located on Mastrick Drive, was found on fire on Sunday evening. Around 50 firefighters tackled the blaze and police have said three youths are assisting with inquiries.

It is the second time this year a fire has broke out at the site.

The local authority had planned to start demolishing the facility today (29 April), but the decision has now been delayed to allow for the appointment of air quality monitoring experts, the BBC has said.
