Work is continuing at a new £2.7m community centre in Hillhead, Kirkintilloch.
Construction work on the development commenced in January, and a scheduled completion date of August 2014 has been given.
East Dunbartonshire Council has said it is working closely with a number of partners to deliver the project, and include:
• hub West Scotland. The development partner appointed to manage the design and delivery of the new building through its supply chain.
• Fleming Buildings Limited. The main contractor, appointed through hub West Scotland, to construct the new community centre.
• Macmon. The architectural firm selected to design the new community centre.
Welcoming the progress being made, Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: "The Council has worked closely with local people to get to this point and I'm delighted to see progress on the site. It's great to come along and see this much-needed facility taking shape. The community centre will be a modern, well-equipped building and will provide user groups and the wider community with excellent facilities.
"It is worth repeating that while the building is important, it is not an end in itself. The aim is that it will be a catalyst for change in Hillhead, providing an opportunity for a broad range of community activity and an important social centre."
Debbie McNamara, Chief Executive of hub West Scotland, added: "All our projects deliver real value from concept design right through to completion. By working in close partnership with the Council and the locally based project team, hub West Scotland will make a huge impact in creating the purpose-built space for improved, integrated services as well as a valuable contribution to community benefits during the construction phase."
