GGR Group, the mini crane hire and lifting solutions specialists, have been recognised at this year's Hire Awards of Excellence 2014.

The ceremony was held at London's Savoy Hotel on 12 April.

The Hire Awards of Excellence 2014 are run by Hire Association Europe and celebrate the success of hire and rental companies in the plant, tool and event equipment industries. GGR Group is a leading supplier of UNIC mini spider cranes, glass handling equipment and restricted access lifting machinery to the construction and glazing industry, employing more than 100 staff across three UK branches, with a European network of mini crane dealers in 27 countries.

At the awards dinner, hosted by TV personality Nick Knowles, GGR Group was declared the winner of the HAE Company of Year (up to five outlets) award, sponsored by MHM Plant Ltd. This was the first time that GGR Group has participated in the awards and as part of the entry process GGR was asked to demonstrate high standards of professionalism, customer service and health and safety, as well as evidence of strong company values, a supportive workplace and development of staff.

Entries were judged by a panel of hire industry experts and senior members of relevant trade bodies and associations. On presenting the award, host Nick Knowles said GGR's entry was "refreshing" and "one of the best entries we have ever received in this category".

GGR also received a second trophy for being Highly Commended in the 'Website of the Year' category, for its content and usability.

GGR Group's Managing Director Gill Riley attended the event with other members of her team. Gill said: "The team have worked tirelessly to provide safer lifting solutions for our customers and make GGR the success it is today so I'm thrilled that we can take home two trophies to reward all their hard work and effort. I'd also like to thank the award sponsors and Hire Association Europe for putting on such a fantastic event."
