Work is underway to create new parking facilities in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire.
The local authority is carrying out the work which will provide additional on-street parking in the town.
Following suggestions from local traders, 26 new permanent spaces will be provided; 17 of these will be between Arthurlie Street and Ralston Road, while nine will be near Allan's Corner.
The £100,000 project is expected to be completed later this month.
Part of the fund is being allocated by the local authority's Town Centre Resilience Fund, while Asda have also contributed. The supermarket chain is currently constructing a new store in Main Street in the town.
Convener for Infrastructure and Sustainable Growth, Councillor Tony Buchanan, said: "We are investing £100,000 in providing 26 additional car parking spaces for Barrhead Main Street.
"This will be a real boost to the area, bringing benefits to businesses and local residents alike.
"Work is now well under way so we should see these spaces available for use soon.
"Of course, it comes alongside a temporary car park with around 40 spaces that we are providing new the Barrhead Foundry.
"Both will really help alleviate any problems people have experienced while the major regeneration projects of Barrhead Foundry and Asda continue. We appreciate everyone's patient during this work."
The £3.8m Barrhead Foundry is being created at the sports centre, which is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. It is scheduled to open in early 2015, while the new Asda superstore is expected to open later this year.
