Scottish Water To Carry Out Improvements

Scottish Water has said it is to carry out improvements to its waste water network in the Garrowhill area of Glasgow.

As a result of the works, road closures in Viewfield Drive and Springhill Road will be essential.

The closures will be in place from Monday 3 March, and will last for around 10 weeks.

There will be limited vehicular access to Viewfield Drive, with a phased road closure on Springhill Road. Four sets of temporary traffic lights will be installed at Barrachnie Road, Viewfield Drive and Glenduffhill Road.

The scheme is part of a wider investment by Scottish Water within the Greater Glasgow area's waste water infrastructure, which will improve river water quality and the natural environment of the River Clyde and its tributaries, as well as enable the area to grow and develop, alleviate sewer flooding and deal with the effects of increased rainfall and climate change.

The total investment has been revealed to be £250m.
