Lovell is set to deliver a £6.8m high-rise transformation and improvement programme for Aberdeen City Council.
The project will see four high-rise blocks of flats in the Cairncry area of Aberdeen benefit from the investment.
The blocks are Cairncry Court and Rosehill Court which are 16-storeys high, and Cornhill Court and Stockethill Court, which are 17-storey buildings. Some 388 homes are in the four tower blocks.
Under the scheme, each building will benefit from the installation of rainscreen over-cladding to keep the rain out and increase thermal insulation. Concrete repairs will also be carried out, windows and louvres will be replaced, while the lift motor rooms will be re-rendered. Work will also be carried out to the ventilation systems.
Lovell, which specialises in housing regeneration and refurbishment, is also a certified Energy Company Obligation and Green Deal installer. It hopes to start work on the scheme this Spring, and have the project completed within a year.
Councillor Neil Cooney, Aberdeen City Council's Housing and Environment Convener, said: "Aberdeen City Council is committed to long-term investment in its housing stock to ensure properties are energy-efficient and warm.
"As a result of this commitment more and more people are seeing their fuel bills slashed and significant savings are being realised on heating costs across the city.
"The over-cladding and window replacement work has been greatly received in other parts of the city and we look forward to working with Lovell as it delivers the next phase of this project.
"Residents in these buildings can be assured that this work will be carried out efficiently and to a high standard, ensuring these properties are energy-efficient and structurally sound for years to come."
Lovell Regional Director, Alan Taylor, added: "This work will make these hard to heat homes more energy-efficient, reducing the impact of fuel poverty on residents."
