Some £270m is to be invested in a variety of building projects in Dundee.
The projects are part of the local authority's capital plan for the city for the next four years.
Under the plan, is the continuation of works of a £55m schools programme to construct new primary and secondary schools in the area, as well as undertaking refurbishments at existing schools.
Improvements to social care facilities and leisure centres are also detailed, in addition to £5m of investment as the council's contribution towards the regional performance centre for sport.
Plans also include improving the Caird Hall and conference facilities at Shore Terrace, plus upgrades to tennis court multi-use and road improvements.
Councillor Ken Guild, Leader of the Administration, said: "We are investing millions of pounds into building projects in communities across the city with this significant programme which shows our ambitions for Dundee.
"This new plan is proof of our ongoing efforts to help protect jobs and grow the local economy.
"We will do everything possible to encourage local companies to bid for work on council contracts and provide employment and training opportunities for local people.
"Along with the redevelopment of the Central Waterfront, with the V&A and a new railway station, this investment underlines our commitment to help create prosperity for the city.
"You can see change happening on a major scale at the Waterfront as real progress is made in this transformational project."
Councillor Willie Sawers, Finance spokesman, added: "Our commitment to improve the city is already having a positive impact across communities.
"We are keen that projects in the city can stimulate regeneration and benefit as many people as possible."
The capital plan is to be considered by Dundee City Council's Policy and Resources Committee next week.
