The plans will also launch a public consultation for the new £8m Cumbernauld Community Enterprise Centre, North Lanarkshire Council said.
The local authority has acquired a shop unit at 2-4 Spey Walk in Cumbernauld Shopping Centre to showcase the designs. They will also be on display at the Muirfield Centre.
Work is planned to commence on the new centre in the Autumn, with a completion date set for the following year, while a new 'civic space' would be completed six months later.
The new facility will include:
- 1,000sqm of community space
- 1,000sqm of office space for social enterprise businesses and groups
- 8,000sqm of civic space will be created to include play and multi-use games area for all ages
- New road access and pathways will be constructed to link the site more closely to the town centre with the aim of increasing its use.
"The new centre will be more than a traditional community facility and instead become a hub for local groups, social enterprise and community businesses as well as hosting a wide variety of events.
"Already £4million has been provisionally secured from the Scottish Government's Regeneration Capital Fund with North Lanarkshire Council committing nearly £750,000 to date.
"We are working hard to secure the remaining funds."
Beginning on Saturday 18 January, the exhibition will run until Saturday 25 January, while members of the development team will be on hand to answer questions on Tuesday 21 January from 2pm to 4pm at Spey Walk and 6pm to 8pm at the Muirfield Community Centre.
