New Appointment At CHAP Group

The CHAP Group, one of Scotland's leading privately-owned construction groups, has appointed Allan Clow as its new Finance Director.

Mr Clow joins CHAP from a similar role as Finance Director at Superglass Holdings PLC in Stirling.

In a career that has focused around construction or manufacturing, Mr Clow was previously with Havelock Europa for 12 years and has also worked for soft drink manufacturer A G Barr PLC and Babcock Defence.


A Chartered Management Accountant and Chartered Director, Mr Clow was brought up and educated in Dunfermline, before graduating in accountancy from Napier University in 1990.

Commenting on the appointment, he said: "I am looking forward to helping the CHAP Group to develop and move forward. Although recent years have seen difficult market conditions affecting the construction sector, in the Aberdeen area we are seeing relatively buoyant conditions in the property sector. This presents the CHAP group with very real opportunities to grow the business."

The CHAP Group operates divisions covering construction, housing development, civil engineering and quarrying.

Established in 1976, the group has an annual turnover of £45m and employs a total of 200 people.
