Last week, a road traffic accident stopped work from progressing on the £9.2m project.
As a result, preparation work to allow a pile concreting operation to take place will have to be re-sequenced. To allow works to continue on schedule, an agreement has been made between Transport Scotland, the local authority and the emergency services to allow the contractor to extend its run of overnight road closures.
The road will now close for an additional five nights between Thursday 21 November and Monday 25 November, with the A82 closing at Pulpit Rock, south of Ardlui, at 10pm each night and reopening at 6am the following morning during the works.
Diversions will be in place for through traffic and are as follows:
- northbound via the A83 at Tarbet, A819 and A85
- southbound via the A85 at Tyndrum, A819 and A83.
Transport Scotland Project Manager Dominic Murphy said: "Whilst the closures are unfortunate, we have a commitment to assist the emergency services in instances like this and we will continue to work with the Contractor to ensure any inconvenience to road users is kept to a minimum."
