A new £45,000 play park has been completed in the village of Haughhead, East Dunbartonshire.

The new services include a range of play equipment such as basket swings, climbing platforms and springees. New fencing has also been erected at the park, along with new turf, improved landscaping and the resurfacing of a nearby car park.

The funding for the project was secured by Campsie Community Council in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Council's Neighbourhood Services Strategy Team.


Depute Leader of the Council and Convener of Neighbourhood Services, Ashay Ghai, officially opened the park and said: "I was delighted to officially open the play park in the heart of the village of Haughhead and to see local people come out to get a look at the new equipment.

"This project represents an excellent example of what can be achieved when the local community, Campsie Community Council and the Council work together. Everyone is convinced the new play area will be a big hit with local children for many years to come.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the environmental funding body WREN who made a significant contribution of £34,840 towards the project which helped make the community's aspirations for the area a reality."
