Following a meeting by Councillors last week, five sites have been shortlisted, with one being named as a preferred site.
The Council are now seeking the opinions of local residents to the preferred site, with a consultation expected to commence on Monday 18 November.
The five shortlisted sites are:
- Site One: Glen Shellach
- Site Two: Existing site with land behind Tweed Mill
- Site 2A (Preferred): Existing school land behind Tweed Mill, Dalintart and Glencruitten
- Site Three: Dalintart and Glencruitten
- Site Four: Park Primary and Pennyfuir Cemetery.
Argyll and Bute Council's Policy Lead for Education and Lifelong Learning, Councillor Aileen Morton, said: "We are keen to hear what local people think about the preferred site for Oban's new high school.
"I would encourage everyone to come along to one of the special events, take time to look at the information that is available and let us know what they think."
Further details of the consultation will be available in due course.
