Applicants – and their agents – will now be able to pay online, as well as being able to submit a planning application online, therefore making the electronic process easier and more efficient.
On behalf of all 32 Scottish Planning Authorities, the Scottish Government administers an E-Planning website. For years, this system has allowed applicants and their agents to submit building plans and the associated documents online. Some 31% of all applications to Aberdeen Council last year were made via this method. Now, the local authority has extended the service so applicants will be able to pay online with their debit or credit card.

Planning and Development Management Convener, Councillor Ramsay Milne, said: "I am sure this move will be welcomed by all those who submit their planning applications electronically, as it makes the process much more efficient and easier than before."
Applicants can make payments via the Aberdeen City Council website.
