E.On To Hold Wind Farm Exhibitions

Construction News Image
E.On is to hold a number of exhibitions to gather views on the proposed Lorg and Benbrack wind farms.

The company is inviting local community members to attend a series of public information sessions on the proposals this week.

Following initial feedback from the local community, E.On has developed a layout for the developments. Benbrack is located between Carsphairn and Dalmellington, and Lord around 10km south of New Cumnock.

Nick Taylor, Project Developer at E.ON, said: "We're looking to develop the Lorg and Benbrack Wind Farm sites which have the potential to generate electricity for many homes in the area.

"Since we first introduced our proposals we've used the feedback received from the local community, along with the early results from our studies and assessments, to develop an initial layout that we'd like to consult on.

"The upcoming public information sessions will be a great opportunity for local people to meet the project teams, view our plans in more detail and share their opinions with us. As responsible developers, we want to allow the views of residents to be considered fully throughout the development process of these wind farms."

The public information sessions will be held at:

  • New Cumnock Community Education Centre on Monday 28 October from 4pm-8pm

  • Dalmellington Community Centre on Tuesday 29 October from 4pm-8pm

  • Hillview Leisure Centre, Kelloholm on Wednesday 30 October from 4pm-8pm

  • Lagwyne Village Hall, Carsphairn on Thursday 31 October from 4pm-8pm.
