The grants have been awarded to nine different organisations from the Whitelee Wind Farm Fund.
The fund, which is administered by the local authority, helps projects which provide community benefits for the people of East Renfrewshire.
Grants awarded for 2013 are:
- £12,500 to Greenbank Parish Church, Clarkston, for replacement windows
- £16,190 to Eaglesham and Waterfoot Community Development Trust to replace village heritage points with stone cairns
- £18,900 to Eastwood Nursery Allotments Association to rebuild a wall
- £15,000 to 1st Barrhead Scout Group for the second phase of hall refurbishment
- £20,000 to Giffnock Soccer Centre to provide changing facilities
- £10,000 to East Renfrewshire Cricket Club for equipment
- £5,000 to Neilston War Memorial Association towards the provision of a war memorial
- £25,000 to St Bridget's Church, Eaglesham, for improvements to the church hall
- £17,850 to Maxwell Mearns Castle Church for a feasibility study into works.
All the available funds have now been allocated.
Applications will be invited next year for the next round of grants.
The first phase of renovation work at 1st Barrhead Scout Group's hall in Arthurlie Street was recently completed thanks in part to a £30,000 grant from the Whitelee Wind Farm Fund, awarded in 2012.
