Scottish Water has advised road users that a section of the Drumfrochar Road remains temporarily closed due to upgrading work of water mains.
The Drumfrochar Road, from its junction with Lynedoch Street to Wellington Park Bowling Green, closed on Saturday 12 October and will remain closed for around a further seven days.
The closure is to allow contractors George Leslie to carry out the work on the water mains in the area.
Local diversion routes are in place.
The work is part of a wider £2.9m project by Scottish Water which will deliver clearer, fresher drinking water to more than 65,000 people. The initiative involves the upgrading of more than 27 miles of water mains across Greenock and in Skelmorlie, and will tackle the issue of discoloured water which has affected some customers in the past.
Mark Maclaren, Scottish Water's Regional Community Manager, said: "Our improvement work in Greenock is progressing and we remain on course to complete the project by about the end of November.
"We would like to thank affected customers and road users for their cooperation and patience while we improve our network of pipes and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by our work or the road traffic management.
"The temporary closure in Drumfrochar Road will inevitably cause some inconvenience to traffic but we hope road-users will appreciate that this will be far out-weighed by the long-term benefits our investment will deliver."
Scottish Water's project began in October 2012 and involves the relining of 18 miles of mains, the cleaning and swabbing of about eight miles of mains and the replacement of about one mile of mains.
