Fife's newest leisure centre, Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre, has opened its doors for the first time.
The Council invested a total of £15.3m in the new facility, as well as being awarded a grant of £1m from sportscotland's Sport Facilities Fund.
The new centre boasts a 25m six-lane swimming pool with a spectating gallery for 70 people, a 16.76m x 8m training pool with an underwater movable floor and a modern wetside change area with adjoining health suite.
There is also a 70-station gym and a purpose-built aerobics studio, four-court sports hall, plus a large children's play centre.
Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is responsible for the operation and management of the centre.
Its Chief Executive, Ed Watson, said: "Staff have been eager to welcome customers to this great facility – I think the people of Kirkcaldy will be delighted with the facilities on offer – it represents a real step-change for the provision of leisure opportunities for the local community with so much more being made available for people of all ages and abilities.
"Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is committed to providing low-cost accessible leisure facilities which allows people to get more active more of the time and the new Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre is a great addition to the organisation's 12 other sites."
Councillor Neil Crooks, Chair of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee added: "It's great to see the new leisure centre being enjoyed by customers on its first day of business. It will be an important facility for the area and the much needed dryside facilities, including a fantastic sports hall, are sure to go down well with locals."
