The proposed development site is located on Girnigoe Street, Wick, Caithness.
The application is for the construction of:
- a 387 place primary school with office, library, dining and sports facilities
- a three-classroom facility for pupils with Additional Support Needs, and 90 place nursery
- with full hard and soft landscaping including sports pitches, multi-use games area (MUGA)
- car parking access from Ackergill Street and drop off zone along Girnigoe Street.
Chairman of The Highland Council's Adult and Children's Services Committee, Councillor Alasdair Christie welcomed the development.
He said: "This marks a major milestone in The Highland Council's commitment to work with the Scottish Government to develop an ambitious 10-year capital programme to provide modern schools in the Highlands."
