The work will involve the widening of the carriageway, as well as the installation of new traffic lights and pedestrian crossing facilities at two strategic locations near the town.
The £2.1m works will be located on the A905 at the M9 Junction 6 (Earlsgate) and the M9 slip road at Glensburgh Road, with both designed to improve traffic flow in and out of the area on the local road network and M9 Motorway.
The work is expected to last around six months and will cause some delays especially at peak hours, with some possible temporary closure of nearby roads.
Spokesperson for Economic Development, Councillor Dennis Goldie said: "TIF represents the most ambitious economic investment plan we have ever undertaken and we are fully committed to seeing its delivery across the area.
"The works in Grangemouth are significant for helping potential business investment and when completed will allow better transport links in and out of the area."
The TIF scheme aims to generate around £413m in investment across the Falkirk Council area while creating around 6,000 jobs over the next 20 years.
Other projects in the scheme will include:
- Various motorway junction upgrades to improve access to the area, especially for HGV vehicles
- Improvements to local road infrastructure and services at various strategic points
- A specific flood defence programme around the petro-chemical works at Grangemouth
- Improvements to the infrastructure to attract development to specific sites.
An information session will be held at Dalgrain Community Hall, Avon Street in Grangemouth on Thursday 19 September between 10am and 8pm to allow members of the public to see the planned works on displays.
