Argyll and Bute Council has confirmed another empty property in Campbeltown has been restored under the Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) team.
With the support of the Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, with the balance being paid for by the owner, the empty historic building has been refurbished for use as four rental flats.
The property which has been restored is 13-115 Kirk Street in Campbeltown.
The building is a category C listed, and an early 19th century tenement, which makes an important contribution to the fabric of the area. It had fallen into serious disrepair and was in a dangerous condition, but has now been fully restored and conserved by local contractors using traditional methods and materials.
Lead Councillor for Environment, Development and Infrastructure, John Semple said: "This is another building Campbeltown can now be proud of and to see the improvement is absolutely astonishing and to be admired.
"It is particularly ironic that this building appeared in its dilapidated state in the national press as an example of dereliction in our rural towns and now, as a phoenix rising from the flames, it represents the beginning of the regeneration of Campbeltown town centre.
"Work has now been done on more than 40 buildings in Campbeltown with the Town Hall and 50-52 Main Street/2 Cross Street still earmarked for improvements being made. It is great to see the culmination of years of hard work by the THI team and local contractors come to fruition."
