Loreburn Housing Association has recently completed a major refurbishment project on four properties at Wellgreen, Dumfries.
The development was funded by Loreburn Housing Association and carried out in partnership with the NHS Dumfries and Galloway Council.
The project is intended to provide supported living accommodation for clients identified by both of the above bodies.
Following discussions, Loreburn Housing purchased the four existing bungalows from the NHS in April 2013, allowing the contractor, Robison Construction, to commence work at the end of that month.
The contractor was on site for 14 weeks and has now completed the refurbishment on time and within budget.
Councillor Andy Ferguson, Chair of the Community Health and Social Care Partnership Board, said: "This is very important occasion for all involved. Today we see the results of two years of genuine partnership working involving Social Work Services, Loreburn Housing Association, the NHS, User and Carer Involvement (UCI), staff and of course the people who will be moving in here, and families and carers. Working together since then has produced a result we can all be proud of."
Glen Graham, Director of Services Loreburn Housing Association, added: "With an identified client group, Loreburn Housing was able to refurbish and adapt the properties to meet the specific needs of the proposed tenants. Each bungalow will provide a new home to two tenants. We have new homes and a new care provider which together will give the residents a really good opportunity to live independently - safe in the knowledge that each of them will be supported in the way that works for them."
