Aberdeenshire Council is to hold a public meeting in Banff and Macduff on Monday 26 August 2013.
The event, which will be held at Banff Academy, is the last of three planned consultations to engage with the residents and community and leisure groups in the area about proposed replacement facilities for the Canal Park development.
The Council will share the plans being submitted to the committee and reflect comments and suggestions made by residents over the past two sessions.
In addition to viewing the plans, the Area Manager for Banff & Buchan Margaret-Jane Cardno will outline the forthcoming engagement sessions on the wider regeneration of the area.
Chief Executive of Aberdeenshire Council, Colin Mackenzie, said: "We are delighted with the level of public interest that we have received since we began the consultation process about the sports and leisure facilities with the community.
"Residents in Banff and Macduff have demonstrated their overwhelming interest and support in coming up with a set of proposals that meets their needs, both now and in the future.
"We still have a long way to go, with the planning process and final approval from the Court of Session, but the meeting on 26th August will be our opportunity to thank residents for their input, unveil the new plans and outline the opportunities for people to have their say on the future regeneration of the area."
The meeting will be held at Banff Academy on Monday 26 August, between 7pm and 8pm. Doors open at 6.30pm to allow people to view the plans and drawings in advance of the meeting starting at 7pm.
