North Lanarkshire Council has said it wants to hear from locals regarding the future of Wishaw town centre.
The local authority will be holding a series of drop-in sessions next week to allow residents, businesses and community groups to share their views.
An electronic survey standpoint with a customer survey will also be located at a number of locations, including the health centre, sports centre and volunteer centre throughout this month to allow people to share their opinions.
A workshop for local businesses will also be running later this month (27 August) in the library.
Feedback from these events will help inform and develop a new framework and action plan for the town centre for the next decade. They will build on the town's strengths, address its limitations and help it adapt to the changing situation to become sustainable and attractive place to work, live and visit.
The new framework will cover a range of issues including development opportunities, town centre activity, accessibility and movement, design, quality and character, town centre management, business support and marketing and promotion.
Councillor James Coyle, Convener of the Planning and Transportation Committee explained: "It is vital that everyone with an interest in Wishaw town centre gets involved in this consultation.
"The town centre is at the heart of the community so it must work for everyone – residents, businesses, shoppers, visitors, schools, elected members and local groups – and those people must be involved. So we would like as many people as possible to give us their views so that we can develop plans that will deliver the facilities and services that people want and need.
The drop-in sessions will be held at Wishaw Library from Monday 19 August to Saturday 24 August.
