The plan, which is currently in draft form, will then be revised in response to feedback from the consultation before being considered by Councillors for approval.
All four of Orkney's urban conservation areas are covered under the plan. They are in Kirkwall, Stromness, St Margaret's Hope and Balfour Village.
Once it is approved, the plan will be a key consideration when planning applications in the conservation areas are determined by OIC.
The drop-in sessions are open to all and will take place on:
- Thursday 15 August at the Royal Hotel, Stromness (4pm to 7pm)
- Friday 16 August at St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall (1pm to 7pm)
- Monday 19 August at the Community Centre, Shapinsay (3.30pm to 6.30pm)
- Tuesday 20 August at Cromarty Hall, St Margaret's Hope (4pm to 7pm).
The consultation period runs until Thursday 29 August.
