The Council's proposals aim to tackle the various flooding issues the area has faced over the years.
A public consultation event will be held ahead of the designs being submitted for planning permission and will give residents the opportunity to see the drawings.
The proposed scheme includes:
- using the existing Colquhoun Park area to hold more flood water by creating a new wetland area as well as improving the existing boating pond
- creating low level bunding and re-profiling of areas to provide protection and overland flow route paths to areas where flood waters can be held, away from road and properties
- the existing play park will be relocated to higher ground with new equipment.
The local authority has been working closely with Glasgow City Council and Scottish Water on the details of the proposed scheme to further alleviate future flooding.
Councillor Ashay Ghai, Depute Leader of the Council and Convener of the Neighbourhood Services Committee, said: "People in Conan Avenue have suffered from the effects of flooding for many years with the most recent incident being in July 2010. The damage caused by flood water to properties, possessions and gardens can be devastating and we have consulted local people on what would be an appropriate scheme to deal with the problems.
"We took their views on board and have produced this scheme which aims to alleviate future events. We now want to hear residents' views on what we are proposing. It is vital that they are involved.
"The participation of local people in helping to shape our proposals is greatly appreciated and I encourage as many as possible to come along to view the scheme and chat to officers involved with the proposed scheme."
The consultation will be held on Wednesday 21 August 2013 at Westerton Main Hall, Bearsden, from 3pm to 8pm.
