Moray Council's roads maintenance section is to begin a programme of carriageway resurfacing next month.

A number of streets and rural roads will be affected by the works which will be carried out throughout August and September.

The local authority has said contractors will endeavour to keep disruption and inconvenience to a minimum, but motorists have been asked to be patient as the works get underway.


In order to protect the workforce, temporary road closures will be necessary at the majority of the sites and signed diversions will be in place.

The streets and roads affected are:

• A941 Elgin to Rothes at Birkenhill



• A941 Dufftown to Cabrach at Bridgehaugh



• A940 Forres to Grantown at Glenernie Bridge



• C4E Brodieshill Farm to Cloves at Toreduff Farm



• C9E Brodie to Kintessack at Bankhead Farm



• C12E Dallas to Branchhill near Branchhill Farm



• U6E Bellie cemetery road



• Dyke to Darklass



• Reiket Lane, Elgin, at C20E Linkwood Road junction



• Moycroft Road, Elgin



• St Leonard's Road, Forres, at Nelson Road junction



• Mosstodloch industrial estate



• Burghead harbour
