The Council has approved £5m of local authority capital funding towards the project. This would help to provide the capital costs of the centre and its facilities, in addition to the £25m grant that has already been pledged by the Scottish Government.
Celebrating the Council's case, dozens of young people attended a talent development camp to develop their skills to help to highlight the city's case as it is delivered to sportscotland.

Councillor Ken Guild, Dundee City Council administration leader, said: "Community inclusion is an important aspect of our bid and I am delighted that these young people are playing a prominent part in marking our bid.
"We have developed a superb case and I am impressed by the strength of the partnership supporting our plans. Few other cities would enjoy the backing of two professional football clubs. Both Dundee FC and Dundee United FC have played a vital role in our efforts.
"Our selected location in Camperdown Country Park would provide a stunning location for this important national facility."
In the bid process, Dundee City Council is in partnership with the University of Dundee, University of Abertay, Dundee, Dundee College, Dundee United Football Club, Dundee Football Club, NHS Tayside and Leisure & Culture Dundee.
