Stewart Milne Timber Systems has announced the appointment of a new board director.
In addition, the firm has also strengthened its business development team amid early signs of market recovery.
Previously commercial director for Corgi Technical Services, Eddie Stanton will join the company as sales director. He will be responsible for sales across the UK as well as the company's estimating and value engineering department.
Mr Stanton has extensive senior management experience in the construction and heating sector, having also held the roles of sales and marketing director at Baxi Potterton and managing director of Glen Dimplex, respectively.
Stanton has a strong background in strategic planning and significant insight into the needs and challenges of the market.
Alex Goodfellow, Group Managing Director at Stewart Milne Timber Systems, said: "Our business is growing and we are winning significant new projects across the UK so it was important to appoint a sales director who could maximise these opportunities and accelerate growth on a national scale.
"Stewart Milne Timber Systems is an ambitious company and Eddie has the commercial insight, technical expertise and personal drive to help us achieve our targets. He brings a strategic capability which will prove invaluable as we grow our business in the years ahead. He is a welcome addition to the board."
Mr Stanton added: "It's an exciting time to be joining the business with long term growth plans and a commitment to innovation and a partnership approach to customers."
Elsewhere, the company has added to its business development team with the addition of Keith Wood who will take responsibility for East Scotland. Wood was previously business development manager for Scotframe. George Parmain joins the team with responsibility for East Anglia and the South East.
Mr Goodfellow added: "There are tentative signs that the market is beginning to pick up and we want to be in the best shape possible to capitalise on the emerging opportunities. We are developing new and innovative products to drive growth in a wide range of sectors and it's important we have the right level of support for our customers in order to continue to offer a high level of service and superior products cost effectively."
