Newly released images reveal how Johnstone's Town Hall will look following its £14.5m redevelopment.
Renfrewshire Council are due to start work on the project later this year and it is hoped the work will transform the town centre once the current building has been demolished.
When the work is completed, the new building will house a variety of community facilities including Johnston library, as well as a theatre space, marriage suite, conference space, café and meeting spaces.
Council services such as housing and social work will also be available, with Police Scotland and Macmillan Cancer Support also based in the facility.
Demolition work on the former town hall is due to be completed by mid-summer, with work on the new build expected to begin in October. It is hoped work will be completed, with the facility up and running, by spring 2015.
Councillor Jim Harte, Convener of the Council's Sports, Leisure and Culture Policy Board, said: "The new Johnstone Town Hall involves a significant cash investment by the council.
"Once complete, we expect the new building to provide a focal point for life in the town for years and generations to come.
"As can be seen from the latest artists' impressions, this will be a bright, modern-looking building, which we want residents to be proud of. We have worked closely with the local community from the very start of this process to make sure they had the chance to play a key role in the design.
"We are also keen that disruption is minimised for businesses and residents in the town centre while demolition and building are ongoing."
The project is being delivered through Hub West Scotland, with support from the Scottish Futures Trust. BAM Construction has been appointed as the main contractor for the demolition and build.
As part of the plans, new lighting, paving and planting will be laid around the town hall, with improvements also planned for Ludovic Square.
