As part of the bid, the local authority is looking to hear from local resident's as to how the money could best be spent.
The Council hopes to secure money from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for improvements, but it first needs to demonstrate how popular the park is and what changes its users would like to see made.
Examples of where the grant money could be spent, include:
- Improved pathways
- Restoring the pavilion
- Upgrading the play area
- Improving signage
- Increasing ornamental planting
- Upgrading the lighting
- Renewing fencing
- Improving the toilet facilities
- Increasing the range of recreational facilities available
An open day will be held at the park on Saturday 22 June for the public to share their views.
It is also hoped that a 'Friends of Levengrove Park' group can be developed, which would be made up of people who have a particular interest in the facility and who would be willing to commit some time to help with the ongoing development and activities of the park.
