The proposed plans are to close Kincorth Academy and Torry Academy and amalgamate the two to establish a new secondary school on the Bobby Calder Park site.
The new school will accommodate all pupils in the current Kincorth Academy and Torry Academy catchment areas.
The Council has been allocated around £22m as a contribution towards the cost of construction of a new secondary school from the Scottish Futures Trust. As part of the budget-setting process, a further £10m was allocated as part of the Non Housing Capital Programme as the Council's contribution to the overall cost.
The period of statutory consultation by the Council began last month, but there are a number of public consultations arranged for the month of May to allow local residents to share their views.
Aberdeen City Council Convener of Education, Culture and Sport Committee Councillor Jenny Laing said:"We need a school that meets the needs of the modern curriculum and which will provide pupils living in Torry, Kincorth and Cove with the best possible educational opportunities.
"The views of parents, staff and the wider community are crucial to this process and that is why I would encourage everyone who has an interest in the new school to take part in this consultation."
The remaining public consultation meetings will be held at:
- 7pm on Tuesday 14 May at Charleston School
- 7pm on Wednesday 15 May at Kincorth Academy
- 9.45am on Tuesday 21 May at Walker Road School
- 1.30pm on Tuesday 21 May at Charleston School
