The contract for the fifth phase of a housing development for war veterans in Renfrewshire has been awarded to Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts.
The £1.1m contract will see the firm work on the development to provide accessible accommodation for war veterans.
The project is being undertaken in Bishopton, Renfrewshire, on behalf of charity Erskine.
This latest phase will see ten semi-detached, two and three bedroom bungalows built.
Construction is due to be completed by March 2013 and will add to the existing 34 bungalows already built by Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts.
Ronnie McKay, Erskine director of corporate services, said: "I am pleased that we are now nearing the final stage of our commitment to replace the cottages on the Erskine Estate. Providing family accommodation to meet the needs of the Armed Forces Community is a vital part of our charity’s work and I would like to thank Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts for all of their hard work to date."
Peter Shepherd, director of Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts, said: "We are proud to be part of a project that has enabled us to provide accommodation designed to meet the specific needs of our ex-servicemen and women through working with an organisation like Erksine.
"Our ongoing partnership with both the design team and the charity through all phases of this project is testament to our ability to create bespoke developments that deliver on quality and value for money."
Erskine provides nursing and medical care to over 1375 members of the armed forces every year through its specialist locations in Bishopton, Erskine, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
