South West Hub Consortium Reaches Deal

A consortium of construction and housebuilding companies has reached a deal to work together on the South West Scotland hub initiative.

Galliford Try Investments, Equitix Holdings, Kier Projects Investments and John Graham Holdings will be cooperating as Alliance Community Partnerships to deliver the £600m of public sector infrastructure projects over the next ten years.

Alliance was appointed as preferred bidder in August.

South West Scotland hub is a plan for infrastructure and community projects which will stretch across Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway and Lanarkshire.

The initiative will deliver a development model to allow the private sector development partner to work with public sector bodies from planning, through funding and delivery to facilities management.

The hub projects will be implemented to create opportunities for Scottish businesses and the local supply chain.

Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: "Along with our partners, we are delighted to have reached an agreement on this significant partnership with the South West hub Territory Partnering Board in Scotland.

"This appointment has been achieved by us demonstrating the combined skills of Galliford Try’s construction, facilities management and investments teams. These skills enable us to develop, deliver, fund and manage major public sector schemes in a collaborative manner.

"We recognise the important economic benefits which hub will bring and we look forward to working with our partners on their exciting pipeline of projects."
