Aberdeen City Council is putting forward the future of two new developments for public consultation.
Proposals for the Maidencraig Masterplan and Loirston Development Framework Proposed Supplementary Guidance are being set forth to interested and relevant parties.
The Maidencraig Masterplan sets out guidelines for future development in the Maidencraig area.
The guidelines provide a spatial framework integrating land use, housing, landscape and housing proposals and setting out a phasing scheme.
The Maidencraig Masterplan intends for the development to be landscaped, sustainable, and to incorporate a mix of uses and connections to recreational transport routes.
The Loirston Development Framework includes the Balmoral Business Park, Cove Masterplan, Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route and the Aberdeen Gateway.
The Framework sets out a number of urban design principles, which form guidelines on concepts like active frontages, legible street layout, civic activities, variety of architecture, coherent public realm and relationship to open space.
The Council says frameworks such as these reduce the risk of piecemeal and inappropriate development in an area, allowing for decisions to be made earlier and saving time and resources.
The documents are available to be viewed at Aberdeen City Council Headquarters from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, by contacting the Planning and Sustainable Development reception.
The Maidencraig Masterplan and Loirston Development Framework Proposed Supplementary Guidance can be viewed on Aberdeen City Council’s website.
Responses can be sent to pi@aberdeencity.gov.uk.
The consultation period closes at noon on Monday, 10 December.
