Dundee City Council has granted Gladman Developments with planning consent to develop a new mixed-use business park.
The company will be building the new Dundee Business Park, which will include a hotel and pub restaurant, car show rooms, vehicle maintenance facility and cash and carry.
Planning consent was applied for in June 2012 and was confirmed by the Council four months later at the end of October.
The 4 hectare/9.9 acre site was previously occupied by Valentines Greeting Cards.
Gladman constructed Phase 1 in 2009 with the building of office accommodation, which is now being occupied by tennants such as Novartis, Accel & Penicuik Windows.
Further, phased office development will be provided in the future.
The company says the confirmation of planning consent will secure over 300 construction jobs and 800 full and part time jobs on completion of the development.
Greg Limb, Scotland’s Director of Gladman, said: "The prominence of the site to the Kingsway with over 40,000 cars passing the development every day offers operators the chance to secure one of the highest profile locations in the city."
Nadir Khan-Juhoor, partner, Knight Frank, added: "In what remains a difficult economic climate, it is very positive that Gladman Developments continue to invest in Dundee, which is evident in the effort they have made in securing planning consent for the further development of Dundee Business Park to provide a mixed use scheme.
"The location is perfect for the uses proposed for the site and we are already encouraged by the high level of interest received to date from potential occupiers. We hope to make further announcements in due course confirming occupiers have been secured and that work on site will be commencing in due course."
