Dundee City Council has announced a series of regeneration plans to improve the city’s open spaces.
£100,000 is to be invested and a list of improvements across the city is to be considered by the environment committee on Monday November 12.
The improvements, as announced by the Council, are as follows:
Lochee Bypass/South Road Park – Regenerate existing shrub beds and create new shrub areas.
Magdalen Green/Logie Street/Pentland Bank – Prepare and plant hedging and refurbish shrub bed areas.
Balgay/Victoria Park/Hunter Street – Remove old shrub beds and create areas of new planting.
MacAlpine Road/Alva Square/Stirling Street – Remove shrub beds and refurbish with new plantings and grassing also supply and install park benches.
Dudhope Banking – Redesign and plant new flower beds.
Stobsmuir Ponds/Taybank/McManus Galleries – Regenerate rose bed areas, restore railings and replant formative hedging.
Dundee Road/Drumgieth Park/Fintry Park – Refurbish shrub and tree areas also landscape areas to grass improving visual impact.
Barnhill Cemetery/Strathmore Avenue/Dawson Park – Landscape area to create seating and also refurbish shrub bed areas.
Castle Green/Arbroath Road – Refurbish shrub beds and plantings to improve visual impact and maintenance.
Environment convener Councillor Craig Melville said: "We know that people really appreciate our open spaces and we are keen to help improve these areas for the future.
"There is ongoing monitoring of sites across the city and we always listen to what communities have to say on these issues."
He added: "We are proud of how clean and green Dundee is and these works will help maintain that record."
