Energy company E.ON has announced it will be engaging with community residents regarding plans to build three onshore windfarms in southwest Scotland.
The firm will be sending details of the proposals to all residents within 15km of the sites.
A number of information sessions will be hosted by E.ON within the next few weeks.
Nick Taylor, Project Developer at E.ON, said: "The aim of this activity is to keep the local community informed about our future plans and allow residents ample opportunity to get involved and have their say. These events are just the beginning of a much longer and more in-depth series of activity with the local community.
"We genuinely want to design wind farms which work for E.ON, the local community and will help Scotland achieve its renewable energy targets. It's very early days for these sites, but as an experienced and responsible developer we want to ensure that the local community have their views considered throughout the development of any wind farm."
The proposed sites are between Carsphairn and Dalmellington, where 27 turbines could be built, Enoch Hill near New Cumnock, with about 23 turbines and about 10km south of New Cumnock, with around 28 turbines.
Mr Taylor advised: "Because there's a lot to think about and explore, the details of each wind farm may change through the planning process."
The information sessions will be held in November at the following locations:
Tuesday 6 November, 4-8pm - Lagwyne Hall, Carsphairn
Wednesday 7 November, 4-8pm - New Cumnock Community Centre
Wednesday 14 November, 4-8pm - Hillview Leisure Centre, Kelloholm
Thursday 15 November, 4-8pm - Dalmellington Community Centre
Anyone unable to attend an event, but interested in discussing the sites should call 0800 096 1199 or visit www.eon-uk.com/swscotland
