Tributes Paid To Scottish Architect

Tributes have been paid to a Scottish architect who was killed while photographing a bird hide he had designed for the RSPB.

Architectural assistant Euan Wright, 30, slipped while taking pictures of a shelter he built Fowlsheugh nature reserve near Stonehaven on Saturday.

A search launched on Tuesday by police and his family found his body, which was formally identified as being Mr Wright’s.

He had been working as an architectural assistant with Perth land management firm Bell Ingram and was known to be a keen ornithologist and hill walker.

Managing director Graham Lumby said: "Everyone at Bell Ingram is shocked and saddened at the news of Euan Wright's tragic accident. Euan was a well-liked and valuable member of the team and will be sorely missed.

"Euan was a tremendously talented designer who had so much potential still to fulfil. His commitment to design and architecture was exemplified by his work for the RSPB.

"This was an interest he shared in both his personal and professional life.

"Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."

Mr Wright had failed to return to his home in Dundee's West End on Saturday.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: "Grampian Police can confirm the identity of the man found deceased in Fowlsheugh Nature Reserve in Stonehaven on Tuesday, October 9, as Euan Wright from the Tayside area.

"The death is still being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances."
