Infrastructure and construction company Robertson has begun work on a new 60,000 sq ft building and a one and a half storey carpark.
The project is being undertaken to construct a new facility in Aberdeen for project management, engineering and construction firm Technip.
Enabling work was carried out earlier this year and now part of the site will be demolished to make room for the new facility, which is due to be completed in August of next year.
When completed, the facility will see new office space, meeting rooms and dedicated emergency response facilities built alongside a restaurant, coffee shop and gym.
Keith Taylor, regional managing director at Robertson the 54 week contract would see around 70 construction personnel on site each week.
He said: "Technip’s new facility shows their confidence in the market and Aberdeen will benefit greatly from their increased presence in the area. As a local construction business it’s an exciting project to be involved in."
Bill Morrice, Managing Director Technip UK said: "The development of our Westhill site comes at an extremely positive time for the company.
"The next stage of the expansion of our new facilities is an important step for us as we aim to ensure we continue to be in the best possible position to meet our clients developing needs, both now and in the future.
"As an organisation, we continually strive to provide members of our team with the best possible work environment and facilities and the investment in our Westhill site further strengthens this commitment. I am delighted that the building remains on track for completion in August 2013."
