Construction suppliers in Scotland are being invited to a free event, hosted by Constructionline, to meet potential clients and find out about upcoming work opportunities in their local area.
The event, being held on Wednesday 3 October at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, between 9am and 4pm, will give small and medium sized construction companies the opportunity to meet face-to-face with key procurement decision makers from public and private organisations.
The following buyers have confirmed their attendance:
City of Edinburgh Council
Midlothian Council
Falkirk Council
Scottish Building Federation
Supplier Development Programme
The Considerate Constructors Scheme
Scotland & Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers Federation
SELECT
Seddon
West Lothian Council
Graham Construction
BEAR Scotland
Alastair Robertson, client relationship manager from Constructionline, said: "In our experience, many local councils and businesses want to give work to local contractors and in turn, the contractors are eager to win these tenders. The problem is that it's often hard for contractors and buyers to get face-to-face to discuss opportunities.
"Hosting events like this is at the heart of what Constructionline does - giving suppliers some valuable introductions and helping them to learn about upcoming work opportunities, while also making it easier for businesses to find reliable and local construction companies. The event is one of the many benefits for Constructionline member suppliers in helping them find and secure work."
Along with giving suppliers the chance to meet prospective buyers, there will also be short presentations on how Constructionline fits into the public sector procurement process, on Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP), the Green Deal and Corporate Social Responsibility.
