Pacific Quay Hotel Plans 'Would Create 120 Jobs'

A hotel group with plans for a 'village urban resort' at the Pacific Quay development would create 120 new jobs in Glasgow, Scottish Development International has claimed.

The resort would include a hotel with 120 rooms, a gym, business facilities, a restaurant, a bar and a cafe.

The development, already home to BBC Scotland, SMG and Xfm Scotland, is at the heart of the Creative Clyde area.

And the announcement by De Vere Group Village Urban Resorts that it plans to pump £20m into the site has been welcomed.

The international groups's announcement came on the back of the news that a Premier Inn will open on the Pacific Quay waterfront.

The new hotel would be opened in time for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
