Viridor (Glasgow) Ltd has a 25-year contract with Glasgow City Council to run a giant facility in Polmadie, processing up to 200,000 tonnes of rubbish a year.
The contract will save an estimated £250m or more on the council's cost of sending waste to landfill.

Some of the rubbish will be recycled under the plans, and organic materials will be turned into gas by anaerobic digestion.
Other unrecyclable rubbish will be gasified to fire a heat and power plant.
But critics including GAIN (Glasgow Alternatives To Incineration) want the city to improve its recycling rates instead, and said the plant could be harmful to residents' health.
Supporters say the plant's emissions would be safe.
The meeting takes place at 6.30 this evening at Mount Florida Primary on Cathcart Road.
Speakers will include Glasgow Green MSP Patrick Harvie.
The council and Viridor were invited to the meeting but decided not to attend, it was reported in the Glasgow Evening Times.
